1. Information we collect

  • Account info: name (or alias), email, password hash, settings.
  • Content you provide: natural‑language meal descriptions, goals, activity entries; optional sleep/mood check‑ins if you choose to use them.
  • Usage data: app events, device/browser info, approximate location (from IP), diagnostics, and logs.
  • Payments: handled by our merchant of record (e.g., Lemon Squeezy). We receive limited billing metadata (e.g., status, plan, last 4 digits) but not full card details.
  • Integrations (optional): if you connect third‑party services (e.g., Garmin, Strava, Apple Health via your device), we process the data you authorize.

2. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including using LLMs to convert text to macros and to generate coaching).
  • Personalize goals and recommendations.
  • Communicate with you (e.g., weekly summaries, renewal reminders, support).
  • Combat abuse, ensure security, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Aggregate/anonymize data for analytics and to improve models.

3. AI/LLM processing

We may use third‑party AI providers to process your text inputs and generate outputs. We bind these providers by contract as processors and restrict use of your data to providing the Service. We do not allow providers to train public models on your data. Any Macrosia model improvement is service‑limited and, where applicable, opt‑in.

4. Legal bases & rights (EEA/UK users)

Where applicable, we process personal data to perform our contract with you, with your consent (e.g., marketing emails), to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests (e.g., service improvement and security) balanced against your rights. You may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You can exercise these via Settings or by contacting us.

5. Sharing

We share data with service providers acting on our behalf (hosting, analytics, logging, communications, payment/MoR, AI providers). We may also share if required by law or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross‑context behavioral advertising.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above. You can request deletion of your account and data; we'll retain what we must for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

7. Your choices

  • Access & deletion: Access/export your data and request deletion from Settings or by contacting us.
  • Marketing: Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link. Service emails (e.g., receipts, critical notices) will still be sent.
  • Cookies/analytics: Manage preferences in our cookie banner (if present) or your browser settings.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest, access controls, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure.

9. Children

Macrosia is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to remove it.

10. International transfers

We may process data outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses).

11. California privacy disclosures (CPRA)

We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CPRA. You may request access or deletion of your personal information via Settings or privacy@macrosia.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
